In A Night with Poe, four famous Edgar Allan Poe stories come to life onstage, lead by Poe himself. The four one-acts each had their own director, design team, and actors with a total of 50 members of the A Night with Poe team. The show opens with The Cask of Amontillado, a story of deceit and murder as Montresor seeks revenge against Fortunato. An unknown diseases plagues a country in The Masque of the Red Death, and though the wealthy believe they are above the gruesome death that follows, they soon find Death cannot be bought. An unnamed narrator breaks the fourth wall, informing the audience of his need to kill an old man in the The Tell Tale Heart, but he is haunted by his choices with the heartbeat of his victim as the soundtrack to his madness. The show closes with The Raven, a distraught lover is visited by a mysterious talking raven who expresses the lover's feelings of isolation and loneliness in the dark desolation of night.

Exit, pursued by bear. Jealousy, love, loss, and forgiveness are at the very heart of The Winter's Tale, a play which features one of Shakespeare's most iconic and challenging stage direction. The Winter's Tale begins as a tragedy, with a jealous king setting off a catastrophic sequence of events, and soon takes a sharp turn into a fantastical and romantic journey of love, forgiveness, and finding the truth in who you are. Audience Feedback "Made Shakespeare come alive." "I've read the play, but seeing it actually acted out in front of me totally changed my opinion of the show! I love winter's tale so much more than I thought I ever would!" "Really takes you on a journey of emotions. The cast is so serious, but so hilarious. Great balance." "Amazing!" |

The Laramie Project, Technical Theatre Association
The Technical Theatre Association presents, in association with The Office of Intercultural Relations, Safe Space, The Women's Center, Gay Cultural Studies, and ODURep, The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project. The foundation of The Laramie Project is a singular, horrific act that occurred in October of 1998. Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old University of Wyoming student, was kidnapped, severely beaten, tied to a fence, and left to die in a prairie outside of Laramie, Wyoming. Matthew was murdered because he was gay. Following the trial of the two men charged with Matthew's murder, the Tectonic Theater Project made several trips to Laramie, conducting over 200 interviews with the townspeople, chronicling the life of the town in the aftermath of a horrifying hate crime.
Proceeds benefit the LGBT Life Center, a trusted leader that empowers the LGBTQ communities and all people affected by HIV through improving health and wellness, strengthening families and communities, and providing transformative education and advocacy. Rather than cancelling such an important production and fundraiser, we pivoted (as our tagline during the pandemic was "Just pivot!") to an online streaming production of The Laramie Project. |
