About
Brandi Shook is an Artistic Director and Theatrical Director currently located in Madison, WI with her partner and two wonderful cats (Sylvester and Sullie). Her work focuses on transforming the theatrical experience by exploring the intersection of art and technology in performance. Brandi uses technology as if it is a member of the ensemble, never distracting from the story being told, but instead enhancing the overall message and experience. She also emphasizes the importance of movement and relationships in her work, utilizing her knowledge and experience with Viewpoints and other movement techniques to shape the story and encourage performers to maintain a strong sense of ownership in the acting space.
Brandi is passionate about creating theatrical experiences that are accessible to all by developing innovative works that challenge preconceived notions. She believes theatre is an incredibly powerful tool for both political and social change and strives to create works that inspire meaningful conversations, provide a platform for emerging talent, and create a safe space for collaboration and experimentation. |
